Key actions
The Strategy contains a number of key actions that are required in order to make significant progress with the scale and availability of high quality eLearning materials and activities:
- Introduce an appropriate management structure
- Deploy a robust and scalable virtual learning environment (VLE), namely the Blackboard Learning System Vista Enterprise edition
- Provide an effective model to enable the sharing of digital learning resources across the University, with other institutions and the broader community, both nationally and internationally
Targets
The Strategy also provides initial targets that are aimed at achieving a step-change in the provision of electronic materials:
- A Blackboard module will be created for all units in Campus Solutions
- A template will be developed and deployed and made available for attachment to all Blackboard modules
- The majority of Blackboard modules associated with level 1 credit bearing units should meet the minimum specifications in academic year 2008-09
- All Blackboard modules associated with credit-bearing units should meet or exceed the minimum specification in academic year 2009-10.
