ENHANCEMENTS

7. Communication Tools

  1. Course announcements
  2. Bulletin board/Discussion forum for asynchronous communications
  3. Chat room for synchronous communications (where appropriate)
  4. Email links between teaching staff and their students

8. Formative Assessments and Personalised Gradebook

Students should have access to interactive on-line self-test materials with high-quality feedback. A personalised gradebook would track progress and could indicate relative performance within a cohort.

9. Assignment submission

On-line submission of assessments will reduce the costs and anxiety associated with printing complex reports. Automatic registration and receipt of submissions will minimise administrative burdens and accelerate both assessment and feedback. Automated screening for plagiarism will be enabled and will be extended to provide an automated and anonymous pre-submission service that can be made available to students for formative purposes.
